I figured this little cutie deserved an introduction post now that we have gotten to know him. He is a LOT smaller than he looked in his pictures. Aaron & I wonder if he is even 2. We also knew that his lip had been repaired back in July 2010, but had opened up a bit on the left side. Turns out it is worse than we thought, but nothing our awesome Dr. Ray can't fix! We get a LOT of food & milk out the nose though. Also he is a little potty trained. I had to change a stinky pull-up the other day...not fun. Now anytime I see him kind of stand there & give me a look, we head to the bathroom. Yesterday we had a lot of success.
He lived with his foster mother, her 2 little girls & her sister since 5 days after he was found. They are actually the ones who brought him to us at the Civil Affairs office. I was nervous about meeting them as I have heard some stories where it is extrememly emotional. It turned out to be a wonderful experience. They were all very nice & we even laughed when Ashley noticed one of Jaxen's pinky fingers was painted pink. The foster mother pointed at her sister & blamed her...too funny. They were there for about 30mins. Jaxen let me hold him right away & that touched my heart so much! He was fine until we had to take the photo for his adoption certificate. Then he got really upset & this resulted in a funny pic. He was wearing split pants & NO diaper so I said a small prayer that he wouldn't wet me! Once it was time for the foster family to leave, we walked into the other room while they left. Jaxen cried & tried to get away from me for about 30mins & then finally fell asleep in my arms. He woke up once we were getting into the elevator & cried til we got outside where all the sounds of the city caught his attention. He loves to look out the window at everything.
His foster mother said he is stubborn & we have seen that, but not any more than Graysen is. He does have a little bit of an aggressive side. We are seeing a lot of progress. He was biting Aaron a little & pincing when Aaron tells him no. He also hits & thinks it is funny. He slapped Graysen the 1st day & made all of us cry. Graysen told us to take him away. It broke our hearts, but the next day he decided he would give him another try & they have been doing much better. They like to take baths together & play swords with the water guns. He is a scapper & will fit in nicely with our small group wild boys. Though the babysitter may not be happy with us...LOL.
He really prefers me over anyone else. I can't leave the room without him or he just loses it. He lets Aaron hold him sometimes, but he gets rough thinking Aaron is his toy. When Aaron tells him no, he runs to me. Graysen is extremely jealous right now. He does NOT like sharing me. Ashley is having a really hard time here. She gets a LOT of attention being blonde. She is ready for Guangzhou where there are more Americans. She hasn't held Jax but plays peek-a-boo & makes funny faces with him.
Well that is about it for now. Our internet in the room ends at 6:30am our time, so then we have to go back to using the free wifi in the lobby. We miss everyone & can't wait to show our boy off.

Blessings from Guiyang,
Tracey & family

I am crying Tracey! I will continue to pray for a smooth adjustment for all of you! :)
It is wonderful that you were able to meet his first family. I know that the crying breaks your heart, but it's great that he is already clinging to you.
