We started out Thursday morning at 5:30am, late as usual, for the airport. Our flight to Newark was uneventful & unfortunately on a puddle jumper. I really don't like those small planes! We got to the Newark airport at 8:30am. Our flight attendant opened the shades on the plane as we were landing & there was the Statue of Liberty! Very cool since the kids & I have never seen it that close. We spent about 3 hours in the Newark Airport. Ate a very yummy breakfast at a diner there and then hung out waiting to leave.

The flight to Beijing was 13hrs long & much better than the time we did it 2yrs ago. We were on a different airline this time & it was a little roomier and the entertainment was so much better. We had movies, tv shows, games & music. Ashley loved it. Graysen was his usual crazy self & still is right now at midnight here. Graysen, Ashley & I were on the side of the plane & Aaron was right across from us in the aisle row. Once we landed we had to go through the foreign entrance & then grab our bags to meet our guide from our agency. His name is Michael and he seems very nice. He will be showing us around tomorrow. He showed us where to eat & get snacks and water bottles. He then dropped us off at our hotel. It is the same one we stayed at on our trip 2yrs ago. We were all so exhausted that we decided to lay down and wake up 3hrs later to get something to eat. Didn't happen! We woke up at 8pm & decided to go back to sleep. It is now midnight & Gray is WIDE awake. He has had a bad cough so please keep him in your prayers.

In a few hours we will get cleaned up & go get some snacks & water for our tours today. We then will have breakfast at the buffet & Michael will pick us up. We are going to Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City first, have lunch at a restaurant that is part Jade Factory and then head to the Great Wall. It is going to be a LONG day.
