1. It is beautiful here in the early morning before all the people & vehicles come out. I love to look out & open our window (29th floor-NO screen) before everyone wakes up.
2. Traffic is INSANE! Why they waste time painting lines is beyond me. They cute each other off, beep horns like crazy & all the other person does is go around them or smile. NOT America. Also each street light changes after 99 Seconds! There is a countdown above the lights.
3. There are underground tunnels to cross the busy streets. We love this because there was nothing like this in Shenyang 2yrs ago. We risked out lives a LOT crossing there. Here we just have to endure a LOT of stairs. It is worth it though & the tunnels are pretty clean.
4. Non Chinese food is limited. We only have room service (very good, but pricey), Papa John's (very tasty & dinner tonight) & KFC (which we don't like after ordering it 2yrs ago in Shenyang)
We did have some local favs last night that our guide ordered. It was pretty good, but VERY greasy. The Papa John's is ordered by our guide & then the delivery guy takes a taxi to our hotel. We tip him & pay for his taxi...LOL. Not much, but too funny.
5. The streets are packed & full of smells. Everybody it seems has their own restaurant. It is a very small open store that has a few tables & stools. They are everywhere & the smells are sometimes good, but we are not willing to risk our stomachs. Our guide said we are not used to their bacteria. Aaron said he prefers his food with NO bacteria.
Today is our last full day in Guiyang. We went to a flea market where there was a lot of plants & animals. We saw a lot of huskies which was weird.
Tomorrow we are packing up & thankfully are heading to Guangzhou (the China version of Savannah). We are ready for a change & I know the housekeeping here at the Sheraton is ready for us to leave. I am ready for Starbucks & the awesome Chinese place across from the White Swan. I love it here cause there is a lot more adoptive families & I feel better walking around at night. Please pray that we have a safe flight & that Jaxen does well. This will be his first time on a plane.
Blessings from Guiyang,
Tracey

Thank you for the 'window' into your lives. I love reading about your experiences and looking at all the pictures. What amazing experiences for all of you. I pray that you all remain safe and healthy throughout your travels. God Bless.
Hope you have a great trip to Guangzhou. Thanks for all your details about Guizhou-I'll probably be there in September, so it's really helpful.
